Police Sub-Inspector (SI) Exam Syllabus (OPEN QUOTA)
Part I: Tamil Eligibility Test (100 Marks) For both Open Quota Examination and Departmental Quota Examination
Objective-type questions will be asked to test the basic knowledge of the Tamil language as taught up to the 10th standard of the Tamil Nadu State Board.
Paper I: General Knowledge and Current Affairs :
- General Science: Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science.
- History of India: Ancient, Medieval, Modern History, and Indian National Movement.
- Geography: Physical, Political, Economic Geography, and Climate.
- Indian Polity: Constitution, Governance, Public Administration, Political System, and Panchayati Raj.
- Economy and Planning: Indian Economy, Economic Development, Poverty Alleviation, and Five-Year Plans.
- Current Events: National and International importance, Sports, Awards, and Honors, Major Financial/Economic News.
Paper II: Reasoning and Mental Ability
- Logical Reasoning: Number Series, Letter and Symbol Series, Analogies, Statement and Argument.
- Non-Verbal Reasoning:Visual Memory, Visual Analysis, and Spatial Orientation.
- Quantitative Aptitude:Number System, HCF & LCM, Simplification, Percentage, Time & Distance, Time & Work, Profit & Loss, Average, Ratio & Proportion.
- Mental Ability:Coding-Decoding, Blood Relations, Alphabet Test, Direction Sense, Clocks & Calendars, Ranking.
Paper IV: General English
- Vocabulary: Synonyms, Antonyms, Idioms and Phrases
- Grammar: Spotting Errors, Sentence Correction, Active and Passive Voice, Direct and Indirect Speech.
- Comprehension: Reading Comprehension, Cloze Test.
